DAM CONSTRUCTION |

We do a detailed survey of
the proposed site and design and
calculate the most economical
wall position according to your
water volume requirements.
There are many options open to
you. A dam wall does not have to
be regimentally straight; it can
be designed to blend in with the
natural surroundings. Islands
and earth jetties can also be
constructed- improving bird life
and enabling good fishing,
especially with trout dams.
We avoid as far as possible
encroaching into wetlands or
removing indigenous trees.
Meticulous attention is given to
smoothing off soil borrow areas
and re-covering them with
topsoil. This enables quick
re-growth of vegetation and
minimal scarring.
You will be advised as to the
procedure for ascertaining
Water- and Environmental
Affairs' permits. |

DAM REPAIR AND SEALING
Once it is determined where a problem lies, which could
be due to either bad construction methods, incorrect
wall slopes, inadequate spillways, termites, etc.,
various options can be discussed to rectify the problem.
A half hearted repair can ultimately be very costly. |

DE-STUMPING
We use a method
whereby the stumps, e.g. bluegums, are pulled out vertically
with all lateral roots intact and barely any soil adhering to
the roots, making burning easier later on.De-stumping in
this method minimizes the disturbance of topsoil. It is common
practice usually today for a bulldozer to push out stumps which
can cause immense disturbance of the topsoil and tends to leave
roots behind.
Pricing will be
determined depending on type and size of trees.
